What is MDVIP and why should you join?

Healthcare has greatly changed over the years.  The “VIP” in MDVIP stands for Value in Prevention and this model of healthcare allows for the optimization of the doctor-patient relationship through longer visits, more direct access to the provider, and shorter wait times for appointments (a welcome return to the way medicine used to be).  We work together with our patients through a personalized care approach to optimize physical and mental well being, longevity, and productivity. In taking advantage of the benefits of the MDVIP model, we are able to better care for the health of our patients and hope to prevent the development and/or progression of chronic disease states.  For more information on MDVIP membership please click on the adjacent link.

Chapel Hill Family Medicine History

Chapel Hill Family Medicine was started by Dr. Pat Guiteras on April 15, 1975.  It was originally located in the Hayes building behind the BP station on the corner of Hwy 54 and Hwy 15-501.  Dr. Guiteras told us (with a gleam in his eye) that his wife was the first office manager and his first assistant was his infant son.  In 1977,  the office moved to Estes Drive where Wake Radiology currently resides.  Dr. Jeffrey Furman joined the practice in 1985 and soon thereafter  the multi-physician practice moved to its current location at 120 Conner Drive.  In 2008, Drs. Guiteras and Furman transitioned the practice to the MDVIP model and never looked back.  In July 2020 Drs. Burgert and Lambert assumed ownership of the practice.

“It is with great respect for our founding physicians and for the history of this practice that we humbly assume care of these amazing patients.  We are very excited to carry on the standards of excellent health care that Drs. Guiteras and Furman have set forth and that the patients have grown to expect.” – Dr. Lambert and Dr. Burgert.
